In that small group, the question was simple: “How can we help?”
The answer came without hesitation: “Come and teach us your skills, that we may do things for ourselves.” It was not a request for relief; it was a call to dignity.
In that moment, something shifted. Missions was no longer about giving more, but about giving wisely. Not dependency, but empowerment.
A simple question opened the door to a legacy that would carry Christ’s love through an entire profession for generations. The question has not changed, but another is being asked.
“Whom shall I send?” — Isaiah 6:8
Will you take up the Clarion Call?
