Many children dream of becoming athletes, astronauts, or movie stars. For farm kids, the hero next to their dad, was the veterinarian. The person who arrived when an animal was sick, and the person who brought knowledge where there was uncertainty. That veterinarian helped families protect what mattered.
Long before veterinary missions existed, countless future mission veterinarians were learning something important; skills can serve people. That is why God often calls us through the things we love. The gifts we enjoy are often the gifts He intends to use. What seems like a career may eventually become a ministry!
Scripture teaches us, “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord” (Colossians 3:23). Our work is an act of worship. Sometimes God hides tomorrow’s calling within today’s profession, preparing us long before we recognize His purpose. Have an amazing week.
